A hearing resumes in the South Australian Industrial Relations Commission today to head-off a strike by the state's teachers later this week.
The State Government went to the commission yesterday to prevent the full-day strike on Friday with the Australian Education Union asking for an interim pay rise to call off the industrial action.
But the case was adjourned so more information could be presented to the commission.
Teachers want an 18 per cent pay rise over three years with the government offering about 14 per cent.
The strike action was endorsed last week by a vote of teachers across the state with a majority deciding to walk off the job.
